My cost: $1.99

THE NFL DRAFT IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!!
The is the closest thing to a holiday weekend that I ever get.........soo I'm gonna enjoy it.
To begin with; the wife and kids are going shopping (the house is all mine), the phone has been thrown in the closet, and the wife has promised a relaxing (no honey-do list) day.
I went to Wally-world first thing this morning to load up on junk food and drinks. While there, I picked up the last of their 2008 Upper Deck Draft packs and bought a blaster box as well..........now I'll probably open all of them today and tomorrow but I'll post the packs periodically through-out this blog:
Let's see what I get:
[Card #1] # 22 Darren McFadden (RC) .jpg)
[Card #2] # 35 Kentwan Balmer(RC)
[Card #3] # 85 Ray Rice(RC)
.jpg)
[Card #4] CG2 Matt Ryan(RC)

[Card #5] #112 Lee Evans
[Card #6] #163 Drew Brees
Now first of all; I want to say that I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I love the look of the packaging and the whole NFL Draft theme. The timing of the release......so I can crack the packs as I'm actually watching the draft. (and) The overall look of the cards which Upper Deck usually doesn't do well......... when it comes to their low-end products.
but.............
If this is a true NFL Draft product, why include regular NFL players in the set? It doesn't make any since to me and kinda dampers the excitement of opening the packs. Upper Deck should have either included more draft picks; and/or, if they needed to include veterens, do it with a NFL Draft twist..............like showing them in their college uniforms and adding draft trivia info or draft year/round of the player.
I'll have to say that I usually stick up for Upper Deck but this time I was a little disappointed.
On the other hand; I did get three of the top teir prospects in this years draft.....so I can't complain to much.
Value of Cards: $ ?????
(not in the price guide yet......)
